My partner Jonny and I will be talking at the Tompkins Square Library about being part of the burlesque revival in the 1990s-2000s! Part presentation, part interview, part Q&A.

“Burlesque boomed (again) in the 21st century and one of the epicenters of this revival was the East Village and Lower East Side. Emerging from drag, fetish, off-off-Broadway, and performance art communities, it became a unique art form with a glam aesthetic and a punk DIY sensibility. Burlesque performers, producers, and authors Jonny Porkpie and Jo Weldon were there. Join them as they chat with Bob Krasner, tracking its rise from the 1990s with press clippings, photos, and personal stories.”
