Hello lovers! It’s spring! I couldn’t be more excited!
I’m taking my show to New Orleans April 15 and 16! I’ll be doing two shows at the AllWays, a wonderful venue that is home to some of the most creative burlesque in a gloriously creative city.
If you’re in New Orleans, or know someone who is, here’s more info and ticketing links.
I lived in New Orleans for a couple of years and I’ve always felt connected to the city in a way I don’t feel connected to anywhere else. I’ve often felt as if time is all happening at once, in the way a film in a canister is, and I’m passing through people from the past and they’re passing through me and we can almost see each other.
I am only there for a few days and it’s killing me because there are so many beautiful people there I’d love to see. I also interviewed the owner of the brand-spanking new Storyville Museum and I’m going to tour it. I’ll post part of the interview here. He had a great sense of how the sex workers there were a part of music, fashion, and the development of the city’s culture.
I have so much going on in this new season, including essays being published and, for the first time ever, a visual art piece in a significant gallery. I’ll tell you all about it!
Luckily NOLA folks. Have fun
Wow, enjoy! I look forward to learning more about your artwork!
